Polyamide (PA)
Description
Polyamide (PA), commonly known as nylon, is a versatile engineering thermoplastic widely used in industrial, automotive, textile, and consumer applications. It is valued for its high mechanical strength, excellent wear resistance, good fatigue resistance, and low friction properties. Polyamide is available in several grades, with PA6 and PA66 being among the most common. Depending on the formulation, it can offer good heat resistance, chemical resistance, and dimensional stability. Because of its balance of toughness, processability, and performance, polyamide is used in gears, bearings, bushings, cable ties, fibers, films, and many technical components.
